Tonia
A former financial consultant, Tonia began her yoga practice in 2004 and has never looked back. For her, Yoga is a form of moving meditation - it improves overall well-being, stills the mind and cultivates self-awareness – all with the added bonus side-effect of keeping healthy.
Although Tonia’s personal practice is in the traditional Ashtanga practice, she has studied different styles of yoga and has successfully integrated many aspects of the traditional practice with the other styles of yoga into the teaching of her Vinyasa classes. Her classes are highly energetic, challenging, fun and creative, while at the same time they incorporate the essential alignment details and techniques for injury prevention.
Tonia continues to be a keen student of both Yoga and Yoga philosophies and has been fortunate to study with various senior teachers in the Ashtanga tradition, Anusara, Yin yoga, Jivamukti amongst others both in Thailand and overseas. She completed the Yoga Alliance certified 260+ hour Teacher Training course at Yoga Elements Studio with Adrian Cox in 2008, which covered anatomy, ayurvedic medicine, yoga philosophy, asana, pranayama and yoga instruction. |
