Peter Bertero

Peter teaches the Mysore classes in the tradition of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, with whom he has studied directly since 2004.  His background in rock climbing in his native California led him to Ashtanga. Peter offers individual instruction, hands-on adjustments and experience-based guidance, just as he has received from his teachers.  He also teaches dynamic vinyasa flow classes, specially designed to challenge all students, both physically and mentally. As a yoga practitioner and teacher, his style is of intense effort and surrender, with a joyful spirit and reassuring calmness.

Dylan Bernstein

Dylan had the fortune to be introduced to Yoga and Zen meditation in 1988.  Over the last twenty years, he has called upon the practice to engage the body, still the mind and study the soul.  Lifelong interests in Asian philosophy, religion and poetry have brought him to live in various Asian countries since 2001.  During a year in India, he encountered Vijay Amar, who introduced him to Ashtanga Yoga and trained him to teach.  Since then, he has been lucky enough to study under some of the world's senior Ashtanga teachers.  Dylan loves teaching at Yoga Elements because of the genuine interest of the students and the great feeling in the studio.  In addition to dynamic led classes, Dylan loves to teach Mysore style classes in the mornings, where he can witness students' self-practice blossom.  More information is available on his web-site, www.stillnessinaction.com

Cerissa Nyen

Cerissa has always been passionate about all dance form with a history of study in ballet and belly dancing. Although, it wasn't until she first started Yoga 6 years ago that she discovered a more subtle and powerful dance of breath. It is through the study and practice of yoga that has inspired a daily exploration of balance between being buoyant and grounded. Not only in the physical body, but also the subtle body where Prana/life force pulsates and energizes, creating a sense equanimity in the body and mind. Having completed the teachers training program at Yoga Elements Studio in 2005, Cerissa has since been instructing Yoga. Appreciating how yoga can be applied to every aspect of life and integrated throughout every level our being, her classes allow students the freedom to explore the avenues of yoga, physically spiritually and emotionally.

nu
Nu in Hanumanasana

Nu worked for in advertising for 10 years, a materialistic way of life which made for high stress, a miserable mind and a physical sickness. She attempted to cure her self through sports, and healthy eating but nothing worked until she started routinely practicing yoga. She found health, focus, and peace of mind; life had clearly changed for the better.

“And as yoga profoundly drives me to be a happier person, yoga takes care of my life, and I became inspired to share yoga with others in return. Since taking the teacher training Program at Yoga Elements Studio, I have now taken teaching yoga as my profession. This has made me happier than I have ever thought and have become devoted to yoga for the rest of this life.”

tulay
Tulay Konca

12 years ago as part of her study of Drama, Tulay discovered the powerful effects of breathing exercises. Soon after that, she found herself performing a series of postures combined with deep breathing on a daily basis. She had no idea that many of these postures were those belonging to the ancient tradition of Yoga. She researched into and studied other Eastern traditions such as Tai Chi and Shiatsu massage. However, it was only after attending her first formal Yoga class in 2002 that she finally knew in which direction she wanted to concentrate her efforts. Tulay left her job and dedicated her time to the study Yoga. She completed her teacher training at Yoga Elements with Adrian in October 2004.

Preaw

Over 10 years working hard for office routine, my life was directed and focused on the material goals. Lower back pain brought me to my first yoga class, and knew immediately I had found something absolutely right for myself. In the beginning, yoga was just a physical workout, but fortunately I found Yoga Elements Studio; which completely changed my view of what yoga can be. Yoga is so much more than postures; it is also about what you feel and absorb after the practice when you include pranayama and meditation. Yoga helps me to develop my physical, mental and spiritual self and brings deep inner peace to my life. Moreover Yoga Elements Teacher training was a wonderful journey for me. It's such an honor to be a teacher here. I have dedicated my time to practice and teach yoga which allows me to share my good experience and positive energy to people around me.

All of our instructors are certified under the Yoga Alliance certified 260+ hour Yoga Elements teacher training program!
