Yoga Practitioner

You've been practicing yoga and you are noticing the positive changes on the inside… and outside.  You might be wondering at a deeper level, what is yoga exactly? You might be ready for the next level in your practice.

That's why we know you will love this 35 hour multi-level exploration on how to get more from your practice. It's suitable for beginners and it's also the first step along our longer 500+ hour curriculum towards mastery.

So whether you decide to learn our curriculum over a longer stretch of time, or all at once it's your choice!

We'll start exploring what brought you to yoga, and how you can get the most from a deepening knowledge of and relationship to this ancient teaching.

1. 7 Asana-based workshops with focuses on
  • Surya Namaskar: Go beyond the physical exertion into invoking the radiance of Hindu Solar Deities through the use of pranayama, mantra and chakra meditation.
  • Lower Body: How to incorporate flexibility and stability to the lower body through proper muscle engagement and movement in standing postures.
  • Upper Body: How to incorporate flexibility and stability to the lower body through proper muscle engagement and movement in arm balancing postures.
  • Spine: How to optimize spinal extension in backbends to avoid over-compression and prevent injuries.
  • Yin Yoga: Reconnect and fall in love with your body, again, through a inner practice in outer stillness. We'll also look into the modern meridian theory to help shed light onto the mysterious spots in our body.
  • Inversion: Using what we have learned in previous workshops and putting the pieces together for more challenging downside-up asana such as Pincha Mayurasana and Handstand.
  • Backbend: Using what we have learned in previous workshops and putting the pieces together for more challenging backbends such as Kapotasana and Natarajasana.
2. Yoga 101: An Introduction
We'll take a historical tour down the roots of the ancient tradition, and explore the evolution of Yoga through thousands of years to the way it is practiced now. We'll also go through a short review of the major great systems of yoga, including Hindu, Buddhist and Sufi varieties.

3. Yoga Philosophy 101
The main philosophy of yoga is simple: mind, body and spirit are all one and cannot be clearly separated. Yet there is a multitude of philosophical ideas developed by looking into the deeper dimensions of the body, mind and spirit. Here, we'll get an overview of the major Yogic texts including Vedas, Upanishad, Sankya, Yoga Sutra, Bhagavad Gita and Hatha Yoga Pradipika.

4.Food and Health: An Ayurvedic Approach to Health and Longevity
Learn how to personalize your own dietary program based on your unique constitution and needs.

5.Contemplation and Meditation
Exercise and group discussion to reflect on the wisdom of the various texts; taking the age-old teachings into our heart through embodied experiences - physically and mentally.
